About SCIHL South China Hockey League
The SCIHL was the first organized league in Hong Kong founded in the 1995-96 season by Asiasports Ltd. which comprised from a number of hockey enthusiasts, led by Thomas R. Barnes (right). A highlight of the SCIHL was in the 1998-99 season when the annual year end tournament, the World Hockey 5’s, sponsored by SUNDAY, invited Mr. ‘Hockey’ Gordie Howe and his wife to be their special guests. The league was still under the management of Asiasports Ltd. until it moved to the MegaBox in 2007. Tom Barnes and Keith Fong continued to organize the league but under the Hong Kong League (HKL). To celebrate it’s 20th Anniversary – the SCIHL returns for the 2015-2016 season!
